Allow Me to Reintroduce Myself . . . And Someone Else!

Well, that was an unexpected seven week hiatus from blogging!  How do I know it's been seven weeks?  I've had a good marker of time, that's why:

Meet Anastasia Eleni, my daughter.  And it feels so surreal to say that--my daughter.  She was fashionably late, but still managed to make her mommy truthful when I said to people I'd be giving birth in December.  She came on December 31, 2012 at 11:47pm.  Thirteen minutes of life for a tax deduction--thanks baby girl!  She weighed in at 7 lbs 12 oz and was 20 inches long.  I had her via unplanned c-section.  I'll try to type up her birth story another time for posterity, but overall I'm just happy that she's here and healthy.

We went home after four days in the hospital.  For some reason, she looks like a grumpy old man in this picture, but it's not representative of how adorable she really was (and is).  From the time she was born, she was just a chill baby.  When they first lifted her out of me, I was worried because I didn't hear any crying or noise of any sort.  After what seemed like an eternity, I heard a short "wah."  That's it.  Just one wah.  When I finally got to see her afterward, she was quiet.  She was quiet for nearly the entire time at the hospital, except when she got her shots or when she was hungry.  She's just a really observant baby.  She loves to look at people and look around.

To catch you up on how much she's changed over the past seven weeks:

Week 3: the start of the adorable chubby cheeks!

So, that's it for now.  Anastasia is here and she's happy and relatively healthy.  Spyro and I are both happy and healthy and getting as much sleep as we can.  We are in love with her and hope that she will love us too.
